A Study on Acoustic Analysis of Hook Song

  Abstract

As we look into the popular music in the 2000s, idols have won popularity on various music sites and a lot of groups, going along with the atmosphere, have emerged especially. Songs of hook technique taking advantage of the word rhythm have caught the popularity because people wanted to express repetitively key words, instead unnecessary words, in the more diversified society. In this paper, we analyzed acoustic characteristics of Hook Song. All hook songs use four-quarter measure and rhythm of mean 123bpm, causing excitement without the pressure. In particular, proportion occupied the repeated part was about 41 % among all analyzed songs, and the first point of emergence was at mean 31 seconds.
