  Abstract

M2M communications are applied to various use cases such as smart-metering, remote-surveillance, tracking service, etc. For example, the smart metering service involves a large number of nodes with short packets, while the remote-surveillance service involves a small number of nodes with long packets. In this letter, we optimize system parameters for increasing resource utilization when a limited resource is allocated to M2M communication services. Simulation results show that transmission success probability becomes increased with the optimized system parameters.
