  Abstract

We propose a method to measure the gait data using the acceleration sensor mounted on a smart insole and identify a user based on the discriminant analysis of the data. The measured data was divided into unit steps based on the gait cycle, and was stored after being preprocessed so as to be less affected by the walking speed. We extract the discriminant features from the data by using the Nullspace LDA method and use these features as the input of the classifier. Experimental results show that the proposed method gives good user identification performance.
