  Abstract

While a random access is regarded as a key access method for wireless IoT (Internet-of-Things) networks such as LPWA (Low Power Wide Area), this letter proposes the approximation method of success probability for uplink random access in cellular-based wireless IoT networks. The numerical results demonstrate that the proposed approximation method well traces the original performances and it facilitates the design of a key network parameter such as the density of data collectors.
