  Abstract

In this paper, we mathematically analyze the effect of misaligned relay with a transmitter or a receiver on the efficiency of wireless power transfer. Through circuit-level simulations, we validate the exactness of our analysis and show that it is better not to use the relay for ensuring higher achievable efficiency when it is severely misaligned.
