  Abstract

This paper presents a signal processing scheme for detecting and demodulating the uplink signals of DJI drones’ OcuSync protocol from a third-party perspective. First, the specifications of the proprietary protocol were estimated, and based on these, a detection and demodulation algorithm was designed to successfully recover the uplink bitstream. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm achieved stable demodulation performance across all OcuSync versions. In particular, the BER converged to approximately 4×10⁻³ at SNRs above 16 dB, confirming that reliable demodulation is feasible even from a third-party perspective. Furthermore, ablation analysis demonstrated that omitting any individual stage of the algorithm led to significant performance degradation, highlighting that each stage is essential for achieving robust demodulation.
