  Abstract

In decision-directed channel estimation schemes, performance degradation due to a channel estimation error is unevitable. To minimize the performance loss, the channel estimation error should be considered in generation of log-likelihood ratio (LLR). In this paper, we propose an LLR metric suitable for systems with decision-directed channel estimation schemes. Compared to the conventional scheme, the proposed scheme offers better bit error rate performance.
