  Abstract

In this paper, we propose a multi-preamble based prioritized random access (PRA) for supporting three access priorities in cellular IoT networks. A key idea is to allow each IoT device to differentiate the number of simultaneously transmitted preambles according to its access priority. We analyze our proposed scheme in terms of the RA failure probability and verify its validity through simulations.
