However, frequent handovers in LEO satellite networks could initiate severe security threats. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of the impersonation attack by a fake base station, which hijacks the legitimate handover between a satellite and a ground base station. Further, we analyze a handover failure probability and discuss potential countermeasures to enhance the security of the LEO satellite handover procedure.
