Paper Submission Information

MUST READ: A person who submits a paper to THE JOURNAL OF KOREAN INSTITUTE OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SCIENCES (hereinafter referred to as "J-KICS"), published by The Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "KICS") should take a careful note of the following:

Use the ' Paper Submission and Editing System ' to proceed with paper submission in accordance with the procedure and instructions provided by the system.

Guide to Corrected Paper Submission

• Log in to ' Paper Submission and Editing System ' and click on the Received No. for the paper to be submitted to check the paper title and author information.
• Follow the procedure and instructions provided by the System to submit the corrected paper. (*Note: a corrected paper shall not include any information on the author, and any included information on the author may bring disadvantages) 'Response to Correction Request' shall be created as a separate file and uploaded to "Attached Files" in the System.

Guide to Final Paper Submission

• Log in to ' Paper Submission and Editing System ' and click on the Received No. for the paper to be submitted to check the paper title and author information.
• In case there is any change with the paper title and the author information, apply it to the final paper, and submit reason for the change for approval from the editor in charge. (*Note: Author information may not be changed, after a final paper has been submitted.)
• 'Reason for Change in Author and/or Title Change' is to be created as a separate file and uploaded in "Attached Files".

Paper Submission Information

• A corresponding author for a submitted paper must be a member of KICS.
• A submitted paper must not be one that has been disclosed in any publication or shall not be submitted simultaneous to other publications.
• The submission date shall be designated as the date when, after manuscript submission through the J-KICS submission and editorial system (hereafter, referred to as the system.), it is the date on which the manager confirms the paper
• Paper submission must be done through the System.
  A. A Korean abstract with maximum 600 words or an English abstract with maximum 200 words shall be loaded into the System, while the paper file including the abstract are saved as .pdf or .hwp and registered into the System.
  B. The paper file name must be composed of English alphabet, numerals, or hyphen, and must not include author information. (A correct example: 20390212.pdf or ATM.hwp)
• Submission confirmation and screening feedback are to be emailed to the corresponding author(s). (Changed corresponding author(s) or his or her (or their) contact information must be notified to the Office.)
• For resubmission with revision, resubmission date shall be the submission date.
• A paper in violation of submission regulations and guidelines shall not be accepted.
• For information on paper submission, refer to the homepage for J-KICS, or inquire to the Office by email ( journal@kics.or.kr ) or by phone (02-3453-5555; Ext. 5).
• 'Reply to Correction Request' must be created as a separate file and uploaded in "Attached Files" in the System.

Final Paper for Publication

• When a paper is authorized for publication, create its final version for publication and a brief author biography in accordance with ' J-KICS Publication Format ' and submit them. - Journal publication format -> Download (' J-KICS Publication Format ')
• In order to ensure the publication of an authorized paper, the first author and corresponding author(s) must be members of KICS, and must include in the final version of their paper author information as follows:
  • On first page: under the title
  • On last page: author biography
• To ensure the publication of an authorized paper, one person among the first author and the corresponding author(s) must pay publication fee and other required expenses specified as below. Other required expenses are determined by 'the Editing Committee'.
• Publication fee is charged to the primary author and the corresponding author(s) with the first proofread of the submitted final paper.
