  Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a terminal emulator for ad hoc network based on the military communication standard MIL-STD-188-220. The proposed emulator accurately reflects the message formats and protocol procedures defined in the standard, allowing virtual reproduction of terminal communication in realistic scenarios. By utilizing a simplified terminal emulator instead of complex hardware, researchers can easily simulate and analyze small-scale military networks. This enables validation of protocol operations and testing of network behavior under various conditions. The emulator serves as a practical simulation and verification tool, supporting performance evaluation and standards compliance assessment for future tactical wireless communication systems.
