  Abstract

Military satellite communication systems deploy satellites at geostationary earth orbit (GEO) altitude of approximately 36,000 km, providing persistent coverage and enhanced survivability against physical and electronic warfare threats. GEO military systems employ mesh network topology with multi-frequency time-division multiple access (MF-TDMA) for dynamic resource allocation among multiple terminals; however, the inherent long round-trip propagation delay and complex operational requirements necessitate more efficient resource management. This paper proposes a novel resource allocation algorithm integrating analog network coding (ANC) into the MF-TDMA framework. The proposed scheme enables simultaneous physical-layer transmission of bidirectional signals to mitigate propagation delay-induced performance degradation, while the ANC-aware packetization (ANC-AP) algorithm optimizes resource utilization under asymmetric traffic conditions between heterogeneous terminals. System-level simulations based on ITU-R P.618-13 channel model and DVB-RCS2 standard demonstrate that the proposed technique satisfies diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements while accommodating more terminals with the same satellite resources.
