  Abstract

In this paper, we propose a digit recognition method using a decision tree in basketball scoreboard videos. Many of contents of the scoreboard include digits which are important to analyze on sport videos. The proposed method recognizes team scores, a quarter, a play clock, and a shot clock. For quantitative evaluation, we collected 11,269 digit images. The proposed method achieved high performance on the dataset. We believe that this study guides for digit recognition and scoreboard recognition.
