  Abstract

Currently, the digital terrestrial transmission (DTT) system uses a 256-QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) constellation for higher-capacity signal transmission. The use of higher-order modulated signal needs a high-power transmission system because a high CNR (carrier-to-noise ratio) is required. Also, the higher order modulated signals are sensitive to interference and thus makes it difficult to re-use existing used frequency . To solve this problem, a wideband reuse - 1 (WiB) method that uses the same wideband frequency in all cells was proposed. Since the WiB system uses the same wideband frequency, it reduces the initial investment cost due to the simplification of the transmitter manufacturing. In addition, the maintenance cost can be reduced because the lifetime of the equipment is extended due to the use of low power. However, since all transmitters use the same be demodulated when the errors of the interference cancellation technique are accumulated. In this paper, we propose a wideband time division multiplexing (TDM-WiB) transmission which can solve the interference problem by taking advantage of WiB for low power broadcasting system. Through simulation, we compare and analyze the transmission capacity and power intensity of the conventional DTT system and the proposed TDM-WiB system.
