  Abstract

In this paper, we propose a preamble redundancy elimination technique to improve resource efficiency of random access parallelization (RAP). Based on the power delay profile (PDP) captured during the preamble detection phase, the base station can distinguish multiple preamble signatures transmitted from the identical terminal and thus avoid to send multiple redundant random access responses (RARs) to the corresponding terminal. Through simulations, we verify the effectiveness of our proposed technique for improving resource efficiency during the random access parallelization.
