  Abstract

Currently, the Korean military is actively researching and developing unmanned weapon systems to prepare for the changing battlefield environment along with the development of science and technology. These unmanned weapon systems can be said to be the basis of the Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) that will be essential for future warfare. Given the interoperability and economic aspects between MUM-Ts at this point, our military urgently needs to standardize software as well as hardware to apply to complex weapon systems rather than indiscriminately developing each weapon system. This study analyzes the application of standardized military communication systems based on the Modular Open System Access (MOSA) principle as DoW's defense standardization policy and proposes the direction of development of standardized military communication systems based on the Korean Modular Open System Approach (K-MOSA) for the systematic MUM-T development of our military
