  Abstract

In this letter, we propose a cooperative wireless energy transfer (WET) scheme in which nodes share their energy to maximize the lifetime of multi-hop network. When each node can transmit energy after transmitting given data, a system model and an optimization problem are presented to maximize the lifetime of a multi-hop network. By using the solidarity of multi-hop nodes, this problem is converted into a linear programming problem and then the optimal WET time is derived. Results show that when the proposed cooperative WET method significantly improves the network lifetime compared to the conventional non-cooperative WET method.
