  Abstract

According to requirements of miniaturization and mobility of the harmful gas detection device for safety of working environments, a multi-harmful gas detection device with the detachable mobile devices is presented. The multi gas sensor for detecting five gases such as CO₂, CO, HC, O₂, and H2S contains a non-dispersive infrared sensor and two electrochemical sensors. The measured gas concentrations and alarm messages are displayed on the smart phone using android smart phone application. From the measured results, 0.59% tolerance error for the 1,500ppm CO₂gas and 0.008% tolerance error for the 25% LEL O₂gas are achieved at the room temperature 20°C.
