  Abstract

As the fourth industrial revolution accelerates, the influence and proportion of Internet platforms in the national economy is gradually increasing. As a result, major countries around the world are discussing the need for regulations to control their influence on the giant platform companies while preparing policies to increase the competitiveness of their Internet platforms. Through literature research, this study analyzes the main issues of regulatory-related discussions on Internet platforms in major countries around the world. In addition, this study introduce a framework for determining the need and intensity for regulation, by introducing four anti-competitive behavior of Internet platforms as follows: 1) technical control 2) market control 3) user control 4) data control. It also emphasizes the need for Internet platforms as strategic assets for national competitiveness and provides the direction of regulatory actions for the domestic platforms.
